Portia had her mind set on what she was planning to do with her day, and no one or no thing was going to deter her from that. She'd argued with her mother, again, the night previously, and the stupid woman had actually had the nerve to call her stupid and naive for inking her skin. Pft, hardly. There was nothing stupid about her tattoos, and, in fact, she was going to get another one, just as a middle-finger-gesture to her mother. That woman needed to butt out and stop acting like she had control of Portia's life - she was seventeen for god's sake! She could do whatever she liked.

Dressing up, Portia made her way into town with purpose, and wasted no time in entering the tattoo parlor. She was flicking through some of the books of images and ideas, trying to decide on exactly what she wanted. She could actually think of a great many things she liked the idea of, but she didn't have loads of money left since she'd been at a party the weekend before. So, she'd settle for something else, and save that for next time. She stood there, browsing through the images and popping bubbles with her gum.

It was like any other day in his studio. He had ventured out from working for Mike to now running and owning his own shop. Many of his loyal customers of course followed him and he also got new customers because of the low prices and the great service they received. Jack was a great tattoo artist and only hired those that had those certain unique techniques when it came to tattoos.

He had finished with one of his regulars when he heard the door bell ring, looking up and saw a young woman walk in. He put down the now new and clean needle and disposed of his rubber gloves. He wore a black wife beater that showed off his muscles and both arms covered with tattoos, black skinnys and boots. Normally people made appointments here, so he wondered if she thought this was a walk on pace or maybe was a potential customer who wad merely looking.

He got up from his station and walked over to her."Need help with anything?" He asked.

"Need help with anything?"

Portia looked up from the books to see a guy standing here, arms covered in tattoos, and it didn't take a genius to work out that he owned the place. From what she knew, this particular tattoo place was relatively new, but had a lot of good feedback from people.

"I'm looking for something new." She flipped the book shut and turned to him. "Something cool that also says 'screw you mom', if you know what I mean." Portia never pretended like she got along with her parents at the times when they argued like this, and she'd made no secret of her motives when she'd gotten her nose pierced, just because her mother had complained that piercings were disgusting. "Something with a decent price tag, too." She didn't want to spend money she didn't have.

He watched the young girl, wondering just how old she was. He had given tattoos before to 16 year olds, something he wasn't necessarily proud of, but he couldn't really talk because he had been getting tattoos at that age as well. He listened at her answer, cocking an eyebrow. "Well you could get something all in writing, there pretty cheap could say bitches be hating." He suggested. Whether she went with his idea or not was up to her, it was for her to decide what she wanted on her skin.

Portia held up her left arm where she'd had the words 'love bites' inked on the underside and held it out.  "Do you think it'd be possible to jazz this up?" It had been her first tattoo, and a cheap one at that. The words were about as plain and ordinary as you could make them, and she'd actually been considering getting something done to make it better.  "It's a bit sh*t. I needs spiced up a bit. Something sort of dark and badass."

He looked at her arm, reading the words before nodding."What exactly do you want on it?" He asked. Usually fix up didn't cost to much here's may cost anywhere from 10 to even 30 dollars, depends on the size, coloring and what exactly she's getting.The place was busy, the sound of chatter and the buzz of needles were the tone of the store.

Portia shrugged and looked back down at the words inked on her. "Maybe an actual font, you know? It's like a computer font, you know? Spikes and swirls would be nice - like most words have. Cursive, or whatever." She'd liked the tattoo when she first got it, but now she had others she was fed up with how plain it looked.

He nodded."Well I'll go draw something up for you." He said and showed her his chair, heading to the drawing room. He drew in very neat and beautiful handwriting 'love bites' he made the handwritingvery big and somewhat thick to cover up the other tattoo. He thendrew another piece; this one was a skull with red roses around it and underneatg the mouth of the skull was a ribbon that had love bites in cursive handwriting in it. He came back with both pieces."Originally this one woukd be 35 but ill lower it dosn to 28.85 and the normal handwritten one will be 20 dollars." He said

Portia was guided to the chair and took a seat, in no hurry to get this done. She wanted it fixed up today, and if that took a while, so be it. She was a little surprised by how quickly she got in the chair considering that the place seemed fairly busy with people looking around and stuff. The tattoo artist came back into the room with two pieces of paper and she listened as he showed her both.

She liked them both but knew she had to pick one or the other. Well damn...She was never a fan of making choices. Both of them were reasonable priced too, and she'd be willing to pay for either. Hmm... Well, the skull one would be a lot more noticeable than the other one. "Any chance I can pick the skull with one little addition?" Portia had a rather 'out there' sort of dress style which she felt was reflected in a lot of the tattoos that she had since most had a weird little twist to them. "Just to be a bit different, can you give it a bow? You know, like on the top?" She had a headband on herself with a little bow decoration set just off center which she pointed to with a bit of a grin. "I like unique."

He nodded and smiled, going over to a counter top and drew on a.little cute bow. "What color would your want the bow?" He asked curiously. He showed her the picture with the bow on top, the color was left blank for her to decide. He would start when she decided and he decide. He already had the stencil.ready, he would just have to free hand the bow on top which wouldn't be hard.

Portia was glad to see that she clearly wasn't being too awkward for the guy. Not that she'd really care if she was, but it made life easier when people didn't argue back or resist. He showed her the color and she grinned. "Perfect." Color though... what color did she want it. Now that he mentioned color she absolutely had to make it stand out. "Hmm... shocking pink sounds good to me, if you have such a color." How could anyone miss that?
